Currently part of the Preparatory School Program
at The New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts USA,
Brittany is an 11 year old piano student of Ms. Wha Kyung Byun.
Brittany started music studies at the age of 5 at the Westminster
Conservatory in Princeton, New Jersey and thereafter moved to
Colombia at 7 with her parents where she continued studying at the
Unimusica Foundation in Bogota and privately with Sergei Sitchkov
(piano) and Elena Krasutskaya (theory) until the age of 10.
At age 6 Brittany began playing in public, at 8
Brittany enters and wins the “Jóvenes Intérpretes 2009” a
competition at the Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, one of the most
prestigious music competitions in Colombia, and at age 9 she is
invited to participate in the 2009 competition held by Fabio
Lozano Hall of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, Brittany was the
only non-college music student allowed to participate and was
chosen to be part of the 2009 concert series of the mentioned
In 2009 and 2010 Brittany attended the summer
music program at the New England Conservatory where she was
accepted as a student of the prep division. In the fall of 2010
with great effort her family moved back to USA to give Brittany
the opportunity to follow Ms. Byun’s teachings.
Some of the venues where Brittany has performed
are Auditorium of the Westminster Conservatory in Princeton, New
Jersey; Auditorium of the University of Juan N. Corpas in Bogotá;
Theater of the Bellas Artes in Bogotá; the residence of the
American Ambassador in Bogota; la Sala Fabio Lozano and the
Auditorium of the Luis Angel Arango Library in Bogota.
Brittany was born on December 16th, 1999, in New
Brunswick, New Jersey. She is currently in sixth grade at St.
Bridget Middle School in Framingham, MA. Where she receives great
support and understanding.
